To the Residents of Lee District:

It is rather hard for me to fathom but as I write this letter to you it has been almost 4 years since I ran for the School Board.  It has been a privilege to serve you during that time and I believe we have accomplished a great deal together.   Accordingly, I have decided to seek another term as your School Board member.  While we have made tremendous progress in FCPS during the last 4 years there is still more to do.  For now, let me just mention to you some of the progress we have made together:

  • Increased participation of minority students in advanced coursework (GT, honors, IB, AP)
  • Reduced class sizes
  • Completed renovations at Groveton Elementary, Hayfield Secondary, and Lee High School.
  • Completed construction of a new track at Lee High School
  • Expanded Full Day Kindergarten to Franconia, Forestdale, and Rose Hill – planned for  Lane, Island Creek, and Clermont
  • Expanded our Foreign Language Program in elementary schools
  • Established an independent Audit Committee to monitor program efficiencies
  • Established a Strategic Governance framework that aligns FCPS budget and strategic goals
  • Ensured all schools passed state accreditation standards

So, once again I ask for your support as we move forward.  While the election is not until November, I am already hard at work on the re-election and would appreciate your interest and support.  As the campaign moves forward I will be posting additional information on campaign appearances and fundraising events. It has been my pleasure to serve you the last four years and would be honored to serve one more time as your School Board member.
